In this DIY GameSmith tutorial we are building Whale Bone Scatter Terrain. The sea bottom is a cluttered and active environment filled with living creatures, but it’s also covered with all manner of bones and carcases of the dead. Any aquatic terrain would be incomplete without oversized skeleton or parts of skeletons scattered about the ocean bottom.
Plastic skeletons that are widely available during the Halloween season during the month of October can be easily turned into aquatic scatter terrain for tabletop roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons (d&d) or Pathfinder, or any table top roleplaying game. The skeletons can rest on top of the seabed or be sunken into the murky bottom and used as cover, barriers, or even hiding places for dangerous sea creatures.
In this GameSmith crafting tutorial, we will show people new to the terrain crafting hobby an easy to follow guide to creating interesting and dynamic aquatic scatter terrain to create appealing terrain features that will liven up any aquatic encounter. Hopefully, once you have seen this GameSmith DIY crafting tutorial, you will be able to adapt the crafting skills and materials shown to create your own designs for aquatic scatter terrain. We hope this video is educational and inspiring. Enjoy!
