Sincerely asking for forgiveness and istaghfar and confessing your sin to Allah brings blessings in both worlds. In a blessed hadith, the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:
"Whoever considers it necessary to seek forgiveness, Allah will ease him in every hardship, remove him from every sorrow, and provide him with sustenance from a place where he would not even imagine."
(Sunan Abu Dawud)
