Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr Geroge Halasz says it is “remarkable” that the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists doesn’t endorse gender affirming care as key intervention for transgender children.
The RANZCP have issued a major position statement acknowledging the plight of de-transitioners and an un-ambiguous statement defining sex as a biological characteristic.
Mr Halasz told Sky News host James Morrow that for some people it may seem “commonsensical” but politicians “are lost for words” when asked to define what a man or woman is.
“It is so refreshing to hear the College that I belong to, just say that sex is a defining characteristic.
“They go on also to define gender and gender dysphoria and gender incongruence and all the technical things.”
