MEDINET MADI is one of the most important archaeological sites of the Fayum Zone is situated 30km south-west of Medinet el-Faiyum.in Greco-Roman times it was known as "Narmuthis". Excavators have discovered two separate towns at the site, but today the main monument at Medinet Madi is a small temple dedicated to the god SOBEK, and goddess RENENUTET built during the reigns of Amenemhet III during Dynasty XII.
SEILA Pyramid is the most northern of small 7 local step pyramids which are built along the Nile There are no tombs found inside the pyramid,possibly were built by Pharaoh Huni (III Dynasty, 2637-2613 BC). The pyramid of Seila is a 4 step pyramid, made of limestone.
KOM AUSHIM is actually a small town at a few kilometers north of KARANIS, where are located the ruins.
Today, we probably know more about Karanis than any other town in the ancient Fayum. The architectural, material and papyrological records preserved by the excavators provide us with a thorough view of how life must have been during Greco-Roman times. the architecture of Karanis was fantastic
Here is also a splendid museum with splendid archaeological pieces found.
QASR EL HAGA: at the northern side of Birket Qarun, in a deserted and isolated area is a small uninscribed temple (known locally as Qasr el-Sagha). The site can be reached from Kom Ushim, and is about 25km from the main road.
