Plainfield Fire Department Chief Brent Anderson said the following about the fire:
Fire crews are worried they cannot sustain the amount of water needed to battle the warehouse fire.
Most employees had their belongings inside the building, and 12 agencies will stay on scene for several hours.
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management is en route to monitor air quality at the distribution center.
Anderson said when firefighters got on scene the fire was inside the building, on a third floor level of the distribution center.
Crews have been pumping water for nearly three hours. Chief Anderson said they will have to cut back on water consumption.
The cause of the fire is not known as of 4:01 p.m., March 16, 2022. » Watch more WTHR 13News:Watch Live and On-Demand Videos on WTHR | Indianapolis, Indiana | wthr.com
