Part 1 of 2 - This video goes through the process we used to repair a customer's original Series 3 V12 bonnet that was damaged in shipping. The car's bonnet and bodyshell was completely restored and painted at another shop years ago, but was damaged last year when the car was transported in an enclosed trailer without being properly tied down.
The customer removed the bonnet, stripped off all the paint and filler, then had the bonnet dipped to bare metal and "e-coated" in black before bring it here for us to make the needed repairs.
In Part 1, we improve some bad hammer work done in the past on the LH front wing, and also make repairs to the damaged lower valance.
NOTE - I did this work while in the shop by myself, so there was no-one around to do the filming except me. So I apologize that there are no "action": shots in this series, and you don't get to see my smiling face either... What you WILL get to see is a damaged bonnet (that many other shops would discard...) being brought back to life with careful hammer and dolly work - and LOTS of tips and explanations on how the work is done. Enjoy!
