Although we have a couple dozen ducks on our pond, we are still getting more algae growth than we want, so we decided to get a few geese to help out! We used to have quite a few geese, but over the years, they have been picked off by predators, and we have one lone, 15-year-old gander left. We ordered the geese from Metzer Hatchery in California, and they arrived on Thursday after spending three days in the mail, which was a little nerve-wracking because I wasn't sure how goslings would fare after such a long trip. I know turkeys would have probably all been dead, but chickens could have made it.
