40 years ago I was once there with a bunch of friends from KSAH, Alor Star. We all hiked up on foot for an excruciating 4 hours + to the top and camped there for two nights. The second night up there was a total nightmare. Our tent was rammed by wild boar in the middle of the night. That freezing night we all took shelter to a nearby half-finished chalet newly constructed on top of the hill at that time. And guess what…. That’s the present day Jerai Hill Resort. Even though I cant sleep the whole night due to freezing temp. Its is still a wonderful experience. Ironically, we are the very first guest of Jerai Hill Resort. lol 🤣
In this video I am meeting my old very close buddy Buckrie Burn from Yan for a leisure ride up Gunung Jerai, Kedah. Again, nice and twisty curve which is my favorite stretch 12.9 km from Kaki Gunung Jerai right up to the top. Besides a breathtaking view of Yan Kedah from the top, the air is fresh and chilly. If you’re on a honeymoon, yaw!!! this place can amplify your hormones. But for bikers it’s just touch n go. The journey is well worth it even though it is just a short ride, especially going back downhill. So, do enjoy this short video.
