A bedbug infestation could be heading for the UK, experts have warned, following an outbreak in Paris. Eurostar officials have been put on alert amid worries the blood-sucking insects could be about the cross the Channel and invade British homes.

Bedbugs have been spotted in cinemas, hospitals and trains in Paris, sparking concern among the public as people keep a distance on trains and the metro. The Eurostar has stepped up measures and said trains would be disinfected if there was any hint there were any of the critters on board.
