The Lantern Festival which marks the last day of the traditional Chinese New Year celebrations is a festivity held on the fifteenth day in the lunar new year. Traditionally, children go out at night carrying paper lanterns on this day. Nowadays extravagant and fancy lantern lights and displays can be enjoyed throughout different parts of the world.

2019 Taiwanese Lantern Festival took place in Pingtung City from Feb 19 to March 3, 2019. Combining Taiwanese traditional culture with technology, the festival features many different illuminated displays.

During her visit, Mrs. Lin was mesmerized by many eye-catching lighted lantern structures, the innovative water show, amazing fireworks and Intel drone shows.
