Topkapi Palace: Istanbul, Turkey | Inside The OTTOMAN Sultan's Home
In this video, I take you through the Topkapi Palace Museum, which is based in Istanbul, Turkey.
This was the home of many Ottoman Sultan's and it was ordered to be built by Fatih Sultan Mehmet soon after the magnificent conquest of Constantinople in the year 1453.
This was also the headquarters for the Ottoman Empire for quite a few centuries.
I go through various sections of the Topkapi Palace, which became a museum almost a century ago.
I also show the Harem section, which was the private residence of the Sultan as well as that of the female members of the family.
The Harem was expanded during the time of Hurrem Sultan, who is the wife of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.
If you are in Istanbul for the first time, I highly recommend you visit the Topkapi Palace as it's my favorite palace in the whole world.
My favorite room is the Sacred Relics or Islamic Trusts room where the relics of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Prophets عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ and the blessed companions and family of Prophet ﷺ can be found.
You have to purchase a ticket to visit the Topkapi Palace. Also, an additional ticket needs to be bought to access the Harem section, which is separate.
