Deep forests, streams, milky waterfalls and high altitude mountain ranges; This is Swat valley which can be better called as the land of lakes.
Godur lake(12700ft) lies at a trekking distance of around 14km from the beautiful Kalam valley in Swat.
Trek to the lake passes through green summer pastures, flowery slopes, pathways along loud water streams and a tough rocky terrain.
There are some settlements small along the trek comprising of a few huts. They become populated only in the summer season by shepard families.Godur pasture is an ideal camping site for tourists. Trek to the lake from Godur meadows is less than 4 hours.
Indeed, the trek to lake is demanding but the first sight of lake and a few moments of silence at the flowery shore are enough to mesmerize anyone...
Filming, voice and compilation by Nouman Ashraf. A special thanks to the team on trek; Muhammad Rashid and Muhammad Shahbaz Zain who are highly experienced trekkers and have been to almost every part of Northern Pakistan...
background Music: Acoustic
The lake can be accessed via two routes. The first one is along the the Godur stream and the trek slope rises steeply through a narrow gorge. This route is quite demanding. The second route is from Desan (near Utror), which is long but less steep. The route from godur nala is comparatively less demanding.
