STORYLINE:
Pope Francis departed from Figo Maduro Air Base in Lisbon to Rome after a five-day visit to Portugal to attend the World Youth Day event.
He boarded a TAP Air Portugal plane under scorching heat which he had to endure during most of his visit to Portugal.
During his visit, the Pontiff met with survivors of clergy sexual abuse in Portugal and blasted the country's catholic church for ignoring the scandal.
He announced the next World Youth Day will be held in Seoul, South Korea in 2027.
