So I'm unboxing Memory And Intellectual Improvement Applied To Self-Education And Juvenile Instruction by Orson Squire Fowler. It looks like it's going to be a good book, even if there's nothing squarely discussed about using a Memory Palace or memory techniques or mnemonics as such.
It would be funny if time machines existed, however. Then I could sneak a reference to the Magnetic Memory Method into it ...
Anyhow, I couldn't find this particular book by Fowler on Project Gutenberg, but there's a photo and some info about him on the site along with what appears to be his main textbook on phrenology:
