Treasurer Jim Chalmers says inflation is “still too high” but “much lower” than what the Albanese government inherited from the former Coalition government.
“Our policies are helping,” Mr Chalmers told Sky News Australia.
“We’ve also designed that cost of living relief to put downward pressure on inflation rather than be part of the problem.
“Things like our energy bill relief are actually taking the edge of inflation.”
