BR 4-6-2 Pacific 70000 "Britannia" storms through Bamfurlong on the evening of Wednesday 15th July 2020. The Standard Class 7 was working the return leg of "The Fellsman" railtour back from Carlisle to Crewe and was more importantly the first railtour to run following the countrywide lock-down four months ago.
It is always great to see the Brit in action but tonight was extra special given the importance of this run. What was extra awesome was that due to the very still air I could actually hear the locomotive while it was still stopped at Wigan North Western several miles away, I started recording with plenty of time but trimmed it down for upload purposes as I'm sure many of you would prefer not to be staring at bushes for several minutes whilst listening to a steam train getting closer and closer ;)
I'll also admit the camera starts to lower slightly after the loco passes, I kinda got caught up in the moment and watched the train with my eyes rather than through the lens...
The working today was;
1Z21 Carlisle - Crewe
