"The Enchanted Forest," a piano concert-dance-theatre for young families that premiered at the 14th George Town Festival in Penang, Malaysia, with a raging success will be presented in its FULL version at Penang PAC (Performing Arts Center) at Straits Quay.

Synopsis:
Have you ever wondered what happens in an Enchanted Forest?
In the concert-dance-theatre “The Enchanted Forest,” animals journey into a magical forest, where they meet a fairy who plays the piano for them. They soon find out that the trash thrown by a monster is hurting the forest. The animals recruit the help of young children in the audience to find a solution to heal the forest together.

“The Enchanted Forest” is a multi-sensory, one-of-a-kind, piano concert created and performed by the critically acclaimed, award-winning international pianist, Dr. Esther Shin Chuang. This family-friendly concert is presented in the form of dance theatre with a thought-provoking storyline, helping the audience think about preserving nature and reducing waste. As the animals (performed by the critically acclaimed dancers Pextstret Liu and Abigail Jingxuan Ng) and fairies (performed by Lee Shin Ying, Leong Zhi Ling, Tan Yan Rou, and Hope Ong Yi Shan) dance to the piano performance of the Queen Fairy (Dr. Esther), the audience will enjoy a feast for the eyes and ears.

Be ready to be dazzled by the incredible dances, the entertaining drama, as well as Dr. Esther’s “brilliant piano playing” (Kwong Wah Daily News). Both adults and children alike will appreciate beautiful classical pieces by composers such as Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, and Saint Saens, accompanied by dancing. There will also be jazz piano music brought to you by Dr. Esther and amazing Jazz musicians, bassist Kevin Theseira and drummer Alexius Henry. As the children are asked to interact with the actors on stage, the audience will feel like they are part of the show, experiencing first-hand “The Enchanted Forest.” It will truly be an unforgettable and enchanting evening.

Before the concert, there will be free art workshops with recycled materials provided by Penang Art District as well.
