The current slump has hit the engineering industry,but in Braunschweig,a local engineering cooperative,KIM,has proved invaluable in times of crisis.KIM facilitates the exchange of workers and contracts between the 22 members of the group. Mutual regulations,such as a strict non-solicitation agreement,ensure cooperation. Now more firms from the region would like to join the group,and duscussions are being held on whether KIM can be expanded. Marion Hütter visited the cooperative.
