To understand this you need to characterize abuse and characterize different family members. The general rule is obedience to parents but at the same time you don't obey the creation when they command you to disobey the creator or when they are oppressing you.

Allah azza wa jal honours the dignity of everyone. Allah doesn't command you to be in a situation where you are facing an imminent harm or danger.
