Today on Amps, Pedals & Pickups we take a look at the EVH 5150 III (50 watt) vs the Fractal FM3 5150 III 50 Watt Blue Channel
I knew the Fractal Audio modelling was good but I'd never actually taken the time to do some first hand A/B comparisons and I am actually more impressed with it now!

The full recording chain for both of these looks like

DI Reamp -- FM3 Drive/Amp -- DAW (GGD Cali IR)
DI Reamp -- FM3 Drive -- 5153 Amp -- TwoNotes Captor X -- DAW (GGD Cali IR)

I forgot to mention that NO post EQ was done to the guitars in this mix
The mix itself has mixbus processing like compression and limiting but the guitars are untouched

I've tried Kemper profiling, STL Tonehub & Amphub, Neural DSP plugins / Archetype, Quad Cortex, Overloud TH-U, Amplitube, Mercuriall, Bias FX etc etc pretty much every digital solution there is.
Objectively, the Fractal Audio modelling is off the chain good. The default controls you get for guitar amps and pedals is extremely realistic. If you're a fellow fractal-oid then let me know what you like and I can take some extra time to checkout those amps/pedals!
