NASA astronaut Frank Rubio and Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergei Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin undocked from the International Space Station on September 27, 2023, ending a record-breaking mission for Rubio.
The Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft returned to Earth a few hours later, landing safely in Kazakhstan on the steppe.
Rubio spent 371 consecutive days living and working aboard the ISS, breaking the record for longest single spaceflight for a U.S. astronaut.
During his mission, Rubio helped to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration missions to the Moon and Mars.
