At the start of every year, I update data on my website, where I report on industry averages on operating (profitability, growth), financial (debt) and dividend (dividends and buybacks), as well as market-level numbers on risk premiums and default spreads. My 2023 update looks at 47,913 publicly traded companies, and in this session, I explain my motivation for updating and sharing the data, as well as the details of my sample and the data variables.
