Bryncir Station was on the Caernarfon to Afonwen line and was open between 1867 and 1964.
The station was once served by trains which went as far a Manchester and London, but predominantly local services between Bangor and Afonwen / Pwllheli / Porthmadog.
There was two serious accidents which took place here, one a year before the station opened and another in 1920. Both resulted in fatalities.
Despite serving a tiny village, it once boasted a goods yard. There was also camping coaches here due to its proximity to popular seaside resorts and Snowdonia.
The platforms and water tank remain. The station buildings were demolished in the 1980s. Today the station is the start of the Lon Eifion cycle track which runs along the trackbed to Caernarfon.
