Transcript:
The L1 visa. This is an intra corporate transferee visa. This allows for a manager to transfer to the United States and work in an affiliate office or a subsidiary office of your home country office for the company that you are working with or perhaps that you are managing. You can be permitted initially when you file a one year working permit in the United States, and you can extend this for three years. You can then see extensions of up to 6-7 years on an L1 visa, so long as the company is operational in the home country as well as in the United States of America. We need to make sure that the company, it has a fairly comprehensive organizational chart. There should be employees and there should be reports to you. If you're the manager or as a specialized knowledge worker, you need to be firmly within the organizational chart. The L1 visa is a dual intent visa, meaning that you can be coming to the United States for the temporary purpose of working for the company, but you can also have the competing interest of filing for a permanent residency as well. You can do this through the manager ARM of the L1 Visa Inter Corporate Transfer.
