Soundsused in the film are not what they seem. While Lydia jogs through the woods, screams can be heard, but these are actually audio of Heather Donahue from the climax scenes of The Blair Witch Project. While the sounds of cellist Sophie Kauer are real, her acting wasn’t learned the conventional way. In fact, she was encouraged to audition by a friend even though she had no prior acting experience whatsoever. She actually ended up learning how to act by watching Youtube tutorials that were hosted by none other than Michael Caine. While she had no acting experience, Cate Blanchett had no prior experience with conducting an orchestra. Yet, the scenes of the orchestra playing were real. Cate actually conducted the Dresden Orchestra.
