In this episode #2 of Cup of Joe I'm hoping we can start a discussion about firmware update ideas. I give me top five and I hope you'll share your ideas as well.
Just to be upfront - I don't have any inside knowledge of what Olympus is planning and when/if we'll get any future firmware updates. But it's fun to think about it and if possible I will forward what we come up with to the team members that I know.
My list of firmware updates
1. I’d like a viewfinder and LCD warning when LVB is active. Something you can’t miss – even more obvious than the S-OVF icon
2. I’d like more integration of the camera and being able to control the FL700WR from the super control panel and/or custom buttons on the camera body (ie pause flash with a button hold for example)
3. I’d like when a flash is attached for the default flash settings to be loaded for viewfinder S-OVF/LVB along with WB (configurable)
4. I’d like there to be a menu item for no SD card shooting
5. I would really love the AF+TR to get much better at faces and eyes and to not bounce continuously when they’ve locked onto something stationary.
