(26 Nov 2019) An anti-government protester in Iraq was killed Tuesday as fresh clashes erupted between demonstrators and security forces in Baghdad.
He was hit by a rubber bullet fired by security forces during violence on Rasheed Street in the heart of the capital.
21 other protesters were injured in the clashes which took place near a bridge that leads to the Green Zone, where most government buildings and foreign embassies are based.
Over 350 people have died since the beginning of October when thousands of Iraqis took to the streets to decry rampant government corruption, poor services and scarcity of jobs.
The leaderless uprising seeks to dismantle the post-2003 political system.
