Hello, today I want to share with you one of my favorite dishes from Indian cuisine: Dal Tadka. Dal Tadka is a delicious and comforting dish made with lentils and spices. It is easy to make and very satisfying. Dal tadka is also very healthy, as lentils are rich in protein, fiber, iron, and folate.
Dal tadka means lentils with tempering. Tempering is a technique of frying spices and herbs in oil or ghee and adding them to the cooked lentils. This gives the dish a wonderful aroma and flavor. You can use different kinds of lentils to make dal takda, such as toor dal, moong dal, or masoor dal. Each lentil has its own texture and taste.

INGREDIENTS:
Dal:
- 1/2 Cup Tuvar/Arhar Dal (अरहर/तुवर दाल)
- 2 Tbsp Masoor Dal (मसूर दाल)
- 2-3 Pinch Turmeric (हल्दी)
- 2-3 Tbsp Ghee (घी)
- 1 Tsp Cumin (जीरा)
- 2 Medium Onion (प्याज़)
- 1 & 1/2 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste (अद्रक लहसुन पेस्ट)
- 2 Pinch Turmeric (हल्दी)
- 1-2 Green Chilli (हरी मिर्च)
- 2 Tsp Coriander Powder (धनिया पाउडर)
- 2 Medium Tomato (टमाटर)
- 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर)
- Salt (नमक)
- 1/4 Tsp Chaat Masala (चाट मसाला)
- Coriander (धनिया)
Tadka:
- 2 Tsp Oil (तेल)
- 1/2 Tsp Ghee (घी)
- 5-6 Garlic Cloves (लहसुन)
- 1/4 Tsp Red Chilli Powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर)
- 1-2 Dried Red Chilli (सुखी लाल मिर्च)
