Southeast Asia could see the return of transboundary haze, as Indonesia battles an increased number of wildfires. The prolonged dry season increases the risk of peatland and vegetation fires, and could lead to haze affecting Singapore, Provost’s Chair Professor Rajasekhar Balasubramanian of the National University of Singapore's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering tells CNA’s Asia Now.
