In 1993, a bombing occurred at the World Trade Center, and three defendants were charged with involvement in this bombing and a conspiracy to bomb US airliners in Southeast Asia. The court had to determine if they had the authority to bring charges against the defendants and if the defendants were treated fairly during the trial. The most relevant facts to the court's analysis were if the charges fell under US law and if the defendants were given due process rights.
