Naturally control red spider mites, broad mites, aphids, white fly and thrives using the Swirski mite - a powerful predatory mite.
The Swirski Mite (Amblyseius swirskii) is a beneficial insect, or more specifically, a predatory mite, that feeds on pests in the vegetable garden that are known to be hard to get rid of or that require regular spraying cycles to keep away. This is a powerful and natural way to get a healthy, localised ecosystem without the use of any sprays, even organic sprays, that promotes biodiversity and inclusivity.
Understanding the 2 types of Swirski Mite packaging options:
1. Bottled swirski mites: This option gives you a larger dose of swirski mites that are immediately available to be used in the garden. It covers a much bigger surface area and is quite a bit cheaper than the slow release option.
2. Slow release swirski mite packet: This is a great option for smaller gardens or if you are growing vegetables in a few raised beds. It is also a great option if you have clearly separated sections of the vegetable garden and only one or two sections are infested with insects. Slow release Swirski mites need to be hung up where needed and the mites emerge over time, so this is not a great option for heavy infestations.
