On behalf of the more than 100 Jewish communities across the globe, congratulations to Joe Biden on his inauguration as the 46th US president, and to Kamala Harris as vice president.
President Biden has a long history as a friend to the Jewish community and Israel. WJC honored Biden, then the vice-president, in 2016 with the Theodor Herzl Award. This is what he said about the dangers of antisemitism: "Indifference is silence, and silence is consent."
We know that he will continue to stand by those words as he takes the helm of the country and steers us toward a future of equality, standing up, and speaking out for what is fair and what is right.
