It's funny how many people try to recreate the VHS effect in Adobe After Effects / Premiere Pro.
There can be only ONE way to get the authentic VHS experience (look and feel), and it's none other than using a real VHS VCR. Of course, you'll need a capture card to record the final result once you are satisfied with how the VHS recording looks.
I would strongly recommend an S-VHS model. The second best is one with HiFi stereo playback/recording.
