The curlew is a wetland wading bird, and its evocative ‘curlee’ call has been described as the sound of the British countryside. But now, like so many other species, it is falling silent. So, WWT conservationists are now working with the MOD to safely remove curlew eggs from RAF airfields in East Anglia, to give them a ‘head start’.
