Cable that are suitable for these trays are required to meet certain standards for construction as well as different tests, before they are allowed to be placed in a cable tray.

If they do not happen to meet the requirements, rigid conduit would need to be used to route cables instead.

An example of a tray cable Lapp Group supply is the OLFLEX Tray II. This has a wide application range due to multiple approvals including: cost-saving, easy installation due to omission of closed raceways, suitable for open wiring and torsion resistant for drip loops.

Many, if not all tray cables supplied by Lapp Group are suitable for outdoor use and are resistant to a variety of things: flame-retardant, cold-resistant, mechanical resistance, oil resistant, torsion-resistant and UV-resistant.
