Bike chain skipping/jumping after replacing multiple parts:
SOLUTION: If you replace your chain and cassette, and the chain still skips, your crankset or chainrings will most likely need to be replaced.
After replacing my old chain of five years (yes, I know that is way too long to wait), I developed this terrible skipping that sounds awful. At first, I thought it was my old cassette so I replaced it. Didn't help. Then I replaced the jockey wheels, because they were five years old too. Didn't help. Then I replaced the wheelset, didn't help. Then I replaced the derailleur, didn't help.
Finally, after I replaced the crankset/chainrings it stopped skipping.
