The biggest mistake every creative team is making is easily their level of output. It's impossible to make one piece of content appeal to everybody you are trying to reach. It would be like HBO producing only one show and hoping that all their different audiences want to watch only that one show. The more content you put out the more at-bats you have with resonating with your audiences.
