Pop-up screening camps are at the heart of what Sightsavers does: we take free eye health care directly to the people who need it most.
We know that marginalised groups areas are more likely to have visual impairments, so to tackle this inequality we hold targeted pop-up screening camps close to where they live.
As part of Sightsavers’ Right to Health programme, we set up one of our camps in collaboration with LRBT hospital in Pakistan for the transgender community in Quetta. A community who have previously been reluctant to seek treatment due to the stigma, discrimination and marginalisation they face.
Meet some of the people who have benefited from a recent eye health screening in Quetta and learn about the impact it is having.
The Right to Health project, funded by the UK government through UK Aid Match focuses on restoring and protecting people’s sight, and ensuring health services are accessible to the most vulnerable and marginalised groups. Find out more: [ Ссылка ]
