Ever since Springer became the first publisher to offer authors an open access (OA) choice on its subscription journals and BMC introduced the first sustainable OA business model, OA has been part of Springer Nature’s DNA.

This pioneering spirit still underpins our commitment to open science and by 2024, we aim to have 50% of all content published fully OA.

What does that mean in practice?
We have brought together a selection of tools and resources, including this new series of videos, as well as reports, case studies, blog posts, and white papers to help explain how you can publish OA with us and help your research not only reach, but engage, and be used and re-used by, the widest possible community.

Transformative Journals (TJs) are hybrid journals that have committed to transitioning to fully OA. In this video, hear directly from the people driving our transition to open and find out why these journals are at the forefront of this transition.
