The Housing and Development Board said it aims to clear the backlog of rental flats that need sprucing up by 3Q2022. Around half of Singapore's 8,000 vacant rental flats are available to new applicants, two thirds of which need to be spruced up before they can be rented out. Minister of State for National Development Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim said the wait time for a rental flat remains less than a year.
