We often get asked about what happens to recycling once it leaves the kerbside after collection, as there are still a lot of Aucklanders out there that think recycling is a waste of time and is sent to landfill.
To help debunk some of these myths and show the process from kerbside collection to delivery at the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) to ready to export. To show that if residents recycle right and place the right items in their kerbside recycling bin recycling is worth the effort to reduce waste to landfill.
