Seasoning steak is simple, but how and when you season it does make a huge difference!! Today, we will share tips on how best to season your steak, so that it comes out AMAZING every time - tender, juicy and flavorful. Enjoy :)
Best way to season your steak for best results!!
Ingredients
• Steak (typically beef steak)
• Spices to taste
Process
• Season your steak as your normally do, but do so a day in advance (see note below for other options regarding time)
• Leave it in the fridge, uncovered preferred, but you can cover it if you want
• Remove from fridge and leave at room temp for 30 – 60 minutes
• Cook as you normally do (see second note below, regarding grilling)
• Enjoy
NOTES:
This process will ensure your steak is juicy, flavorful, and tender. Of course, the better cuts of beef produce better results, but this process is great on any steak
If you forget to season your steak the day before, you can still do so, on the same day you plan on cooking the steak. Just do so as early as you can, for example, you can season your steak in the morning. OR - At an absolute minimum, allow at least 1 hr to pre-season your steak. Just remember, the earlier the better and the day before produces the best results.
If grilling your steak, preheat your BBQ, place your steak on the grill and leave the lid open, and if cooking to med/rare, you only need to flip your steak once (each BBQ is different, but a typical steak in my BBQ takes 4 minutes per side for med/rare – for extra thick steaks, it may need 5 or 6 minutes per side on my grill)
My favorite cut of steak is a Rib Steak followed by a Strip-Loin
