November 16 marked Edie’s one year anniversary at The Sanctuary! In celebration of her arrival and recognizing her preference for donut shaped enrichment items, Caregivers threw Edie a “Trunkin’ Donuts" party! Staff stuffed the pretend enrichment donuts with Mazuri, which provided mental stimulation as she worked to retrieve each food pellet. Edie also received homemade plant-based “donuts” of pumpkin and topped with a fruity “jam”, along with a feast of banana leaves, bamboo, hay, and blueberries. She devoured her anniversary celebration with lots of rumbles. Staff watched with great appreciation for the opportunity to care for Edie here at The Elephant Sanctuary!
