A UP AC44CWCTE and two SD70ACes power an empty coal train from Wisconsin westbound on Track 1 of the Clinton Sub going about 55mph as the sun finally comes out over Cedar Rapids. Since my plane back to Nashville was delayed due to a mechanical issue in Orlando where the plane had to be swapped out, I was able to get this train, another UP intermodal, and the CRANDIC once more. The lead unit has a rare K3HL horn that I also heard on UP 6479 two days prior. The K3HL is usually found on derated UP AC60CWs or C44ACM rebuilds, and I didn't see a single one of those unit types on this trip.
Filmed at Old Bridge Rd. in Cedar Rapids, IA.
