Dual Np231/dana 300 install into a jeep cherokee XJ with an AX15
Some notes:
Check your input shaft lengths if you are using a second tcase just to make sure
You will be drilling/ die grinding out the AX15 rear output housing to clock the 231 upside down since the holes are not symmetrical
The 231 will interfere with the 300 front output if you don't flip it upside down
You will be cutting the floor out a lot to clear the flipped 231
Your Front DS will be about 6" longer
Your rear will be about 2" shorter (various by lift height, type of SYE you previously had, type of output you run on the 300)
We use the Downeast Offroad flip kit, which utilizes a advanced adapters universal atlas shift kit
We used the Frog Fab block off kit, the owner was super responsive to questions via email
We made a quick and dirty shift lever for the 231 crawl box portion, I just cut some flat stock up and bolted it to the old shift linkage
We used 80w-90 gear oil in both cases

You will need to tap and plug the old vent valve for the chopped up 231 we used 1/8 NPT to tap it and a plug
you will need to drill a new hole and tap it, we used 1/8" NPT for new vent on the new top of the 231 crawl box
You will need to make sure you figure out a vent for the 300
You will need someone to Tig weld the aluminum for the block off plate on the 231 so factor that into your budget. We spent 300$ to have a buddy weld it for us.
You will be flipping the 231 and the 300 both upside down
We sourced a second 231 before hand to keep the rig drivable in the mean time and in case everything went to hell we could slap the old tcase back in .
