Eli was participating in snow sports with two friends at a resort in Colorado when his friends accidentally collided with each other on the slope.

One of them suffered a deep cut on his arm.

Eli quickly realized the injury was serious.

He gave his ski poles to his other friend and instructed him to plant them into the ground behind the injured boy to warn other skiers.

Eli told the friend to call ski patrol.

Eli used a glove to apply pressure to his injured friend's wound and talked to him to keep him calm.

This friend was taken to the emergency room while the other rode down with the ski patrol.

Eli's friend later recovered.

Eagle Scout Eli, a member of Troop 736 in Wichita, Kansas, received a Heroism Award for his actions.
