(11 Jul 2015) Greece's parliament backed the government's reform plan of austerity measures to win a third bailout early on Saturday, but with the government suffering significant losses from dissenting lawmakers.
The motion sought to authorise the government to use the proposal as a basis for negotiation with international creditors this weekend.
It passed with 251 votes in favour, 32 against and eight voting 'present' - a form of abstention - in the 300-member parliament.
Greece's negotiators head to Brussels on Saturday armed with their reform proposals.
Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos will meet his 18 colleagues from the other eurozone countries on Saturday afternoon to discuss the Greek proposals, which contain tax hikes and deep spending cuts, including on pensions, which the left-wing government had so far resisted.
