Toby and Israel strike out again to see what else is in Krakow besides the already magnificent medieval Old Town Square.
Stopping by for a delicious "$10 Triumph" meal at Kuchnia u Doroty Restaurant, they explore the neighborhood south of the Wawel Castle, called Kazimierz - The Old Jewish Quarter.
The meal turns out to be only $6-$8 for high quality, high taste main dishes. Right up our alley and perfect for digital nomads and bargain hunting expats!
Around the corner we come across more "off the beaten path finds", like a spacious, silent, glorious 14th century Gothic Church called St. Catherine's also in the Jewish Quarter of Kazimierz. We explore it more or less by ourselves. Where in Europe can you do this? Build during the time of Kazimierz the Great, during the heyday of Krakow, this is a priceless non-touristic stop that won't always remain off the radar. We also pop in to Corpus Christi Basilica in Kazimierz.
We also try out some fine dining, which in Krakow is NOT that expensive. The classy, stylish, and snobby Fiorentina is reviewed and rated and then we get an even better meal at a better price at the Black Duck! No reservations needed there!
We stop by for ice cream, but this is not ordinary ice cream. Good Lood is the brand, and yes it's a commercial chain. So it should be mediocre and bland, but oh no, not in Poland. Good Lood ice cream is the best ice cream I have tasted in Europe and it costs less than $2 a scoop!
