Beguni is a very popular Bengali snacks making with brinjal. We can serve it with puffed rice, steamed rice with dal, pulao or khichuri.
Ingredients:
Gram Flour.
Rice Flour.
Black Cumin.
Turmeric Powder.
Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder.
Chilli Powder.
Poppy Seeds.
Brinjal.
Methods of how to make Beguni:
At first take a big bowl and place a strainer in top.
Add 1 cup/100 gm Gram Flour, 1/4 cup Rice Flour.
Then add 1/4 tsp Black Cumin, 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder,1/2 tsp Salt (as per taste), 1/4 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder,1/4 tsp Chilli Powder (as per taste), 1 tbsp. Poppy Seeds
Mix well with a whisk.
Add 1/4 tsp Sugar and again mix well.
Then add water slowly to make a smooth batter.
Let it rest for 15 mins and in the meantime prepare the brinjals.
Cut a medium size Brinjal in very thin slices.
Now let's fry them.
After 15 mins the batter is completely set and it's a little thick now.
Now dip the slice of brinjal in the batter properly..
Then heat up oil and fry them on medium flame.
After a few seconds flip it and splash oil in top like this.
Now fry them for 3-4 mins on medium to high flame on all sides.
After frying take them out of the oil.
I am serving it hot with Puffed Rice.
