Here is the making of a custom, modern walnut coffee table designed and built for my clients. While a simple looking build, this table tested my technical skills as I tried something brand new to me, a trapped sliding dovetail connecting the bases to the top by sliding the top around the base, locking the dovetail in. This joint will help keep the table top flat, resists racking making the table super strong without the need for a lower stretcher. At the end of the day, this table is an example of how homemade is better than store bought.
